Polyurethane ( PUR ) wins in international competition. For project JDC in Japan, in cooperation with AkerSolutions AS, Mjøsplast AS provides a huge number of Riser Clamps.
Utilization of PUR in Riser Clamps simply demonstrates PUR material properties. Compared with a steel design of the Riser Clamp, the PUR Riser Clamp has a weight of 15 kg in air (steel approx. 98 kg). Weight deduction in combination with rounded edges of product it-selves, makes possible one person to operate the Raiser Clamp with a minimal risk for personal injuries.
JDC is the 4.th project utilizating PUR Riser Clamps delivered from Mjøsplast AS.

Bending restrictors for ø 170 millimeters power cable protection.
PIR is a further developed PUR with strength abilities up to 60 M Pascal. Based on this relatively extreme strength our PIR is able, both in test and in use, to withstand
a customer specified bending moment 5 kNm.
In Mjøsplast AS Bending limiter design, PIR material abilities are really demonstrated. Strength in combination with low-density results element weight 8 kg, compared
with steel alternative 52 kg.
In CO2 aspect we gain during transportation and in HSE aspect we gain almost unlimited during handling/ assembly
To prepare Mjøsplast AS for further growth Sven Arne Sylling is appointed as new Manager from August 1st 2015. Sven Arne is 58 years of age, graduated with bachelors of both mechanical engineering and business. His most recent experience comes from 10 years as a project manager towards Norwegian and international offshore industries.

Protection Caps in PUR from Mjøsplast AS
One more convincing PUR design is delivered from Mjøsplast AS. For end-user FMC in Kongsberg/ Egina project, Mjøsplast AS together with Aarbakke AS has provided a serious number of protection caps for KC4.2-12 hubs, ID 12 and ID 16. These are protection caps that typical protects open pipe-ends, typical Manifold hubs in dimensions 300 mm and 400 mm, both onshore as offshore. A scratch/ damage at such a pipe-end might cause enormous costs and installation delays. Caused PUR material-elastisity the protection Cap very well protects pipe-end metal surface even if an accident ( not planned activity ) should occur. A 400 mm protection cap have a weight in air close to 75 kg, but subsea just 22 kg. This means removal of the protection cap by a ROV is an easy task.
